Himachal’s Daughter Creates History in Paragliding
A young paraglider from Mandi, raised in Bir Billing, has made history for India in the world of paragliding.
She competed in six international events in Kazakhstan (May–June 2025) and brought home an incredible 3 trophies and 14 medals — including 6 Gold, 5 Silver, and 3 Bronze.
This is the highest medal haul by any Indian in a single international paragliding tour, marking a historic milestone for the sport in India.
In the latest paragliding rankings, Alisha is now ranked 20th among women worldwide, and holds the 1st position among women in India.
She is the first Indian woman ever to achieve this global ranking, setting yet another benchmark for Indian paragliding.
